Fellowship -- Editor/Magazine Job Opening at The New York Times in May 2019

Join the 2019 New York Times Fellowship class as a journalist with Magazine.

As one of the top news magazines in the country, Magazine is looking for a fellow who is invested in the future of longform journalism and eager to learn how a weekly magazine is made. The fellow will assist editors at nearly every point in the magazine-making process: from researching topics for future stories and coverage, to producing articles online and drafting social copy.

The most competitive candidates will be college graduates or postgraduates or budding journalists of any age who have had multiple internships or equivalent experience. Candidates should have excellent research, writing and editing skills; a strong understanding of narrative storytelling in the online era; and a notable digital presence. In turn, the magazine is committed to providing opportunities for our fellow to grow and learn according to their strengths and interests.

Upload a résumé, cover letter and work samples to apply.

This is a guild position.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The deadline to submit an application for this yearlong program is 11:59 p.m., New York time on November 19, 2018.
